What is the age limit for participants?

The competition is open to school students in two class groups: Between 1st grade to 5th grade, and between 6th grade to 10th grade.

Who can participate in the competition?

Only residents of Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi NCR are eligible to participate.

Is this competition online?

The Spardha School Idol competition is conducted online. However, the Grand Finale will be held offline in three major Indian cities: Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune.

Is the contest international?

Currently, Spardha School Idol is open only to participants residing in India. For those outside India, we will be launching the Spardha Idol Global 2024 edition soon.

Is this competition only for singers?

No, there are two categories:
Solo Vocals: For those who want to sing.
Solo Instruments: For those who want to play an instrument.

Can the song be in any language, a folk song, or a Bollywood song?

Yes, participants can sing any song in any language. Genres can include Folk, Indian Classical, Carnatic, Western, Bollywood, or any other film music.

Can I choose any instrument in the instrument category?

Participants can choose from the following instruments:
Piano
Electric Keyboard
Guitar
Ukulele
Flute
Tabla
Violin

Is there any Registration Fee?

No, registration is FREE for everyone.

I accidentally entered the wrong age group. How can I change it?

Near the registration closing date, participants will receive access to the Spardha School Idol Dashboard, where they can edit their profile and change the age group.

Can I make more than one entry with one registration?

Yes, once participants have access to the Spardha School Idol Dashboard, they can add multiple participants in their respective categories and upload videos.

Where can I upload the video?

Videos can be uploaded on the Spardha School Idol Dashboard. You can login after registration.

What kind of video should I post? What’s the format for the video?

Can I see the lyrics/notes while recording the video?

Yes, as long as it doesn’t interrupt the flow of the performance.

What is the performance evaluation criteria?

We’re glad you asked. Vocals performance criteria.
Each criteria is worth 20 marks, and hence the overall performance is scored out of 100

I have no instrument but I can sing. Can I still participate?

Yes, participants can register in the Solo Vocals category and sing any song of their choice.

Can I sing with a karaoke track?

Yes, participants can use karaoke tracks. Please refer to the recording guidelines for more details.

Can I use a backing track while playing the instrument?

Yes, participants may use backing tracks. Detailed guidelines are available in the recording section.

Why wasn't my child/I selected for the finals?

The competition was highly competitive, and each performance was thoroughly reviewed by Spardha’s panel of musicians based on multiple criteria. We encourage all participants to continue their musical journey and participate in future events.

Will there be more opportunities to participate in future events?

Yes, Spardha School Idol is an annual event. Additionally, participants can join Spardha Idol Global, our upcoming digital global music competition.

How can I improve my skills for the next competition?

Participants are encouraged to join the Spardha School of Music for tailored courses and to attend our monthly Free Masterclasses to refine their skills.

Is there a community I can join for support and networking?

Yes, participants can join our social media platforms and our Instagram broadcast channel - @spardhaonline for support, collaboration, and networking.

Can I view my performance again?

Yes, performances can be accessed on the same page where friends and family voted. Participants can revisit and share these moments.

Will I receive any recognition for my participation?

Yes, participants will receive a certificate of appreciation via email. It can also be downloaded from the Spardha School Idol Dashboard.
